Vertical Gardening:
Grow your plants vertically! It will expand your outdoor gardening space, create privacy and add beauty to bare walls and fences. Grow food and flowers, adding beauty and produce food from the ground up. If you have a small city lot, a balcony or a small deck, you can go vertical and fit in many more plants.
About Anna:
Anna is a former High School teacher, and worked for 30 years at the Kortright Centre. She is the Past Chair of the Ontario Rock Garden Society and former editor of its Journal, and is the Past Director of North American Rock Garden Society and Former Program Director for East York Garden Club (now Life Member). She is currently a Member of GardenComm and a Toronto Master Gardener.
She has written for the ORGS&HPS Website + articles the Journal, Nature notes for the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto, Toronto Life Gardening, Landscape Ontario and The Globe and Mail, Plant Portraits in Trellis, NARGS, the Dutch Rock Garden Society and others.
Anna as won many awards including: NARGS Marvin Black Service Award, Silver Awards from GARDENCOMM, ORG&HPS service award in 2023, Volunteer Awards from Province of Ontario, East York and prizes for photography. She has travelled widely, photographing wildlife and mountain plants.
Anna shared that "I am basically a mad gardener, gardening in a comparatively large garden in Toronto with lots of shade and visiting mink, deer and groundhogs."
