May 14, 2025 Uninvited Guests - Dealing with Weeds!

This is a hybrid meeting (in-person and Zoom)
Every gardener has weeds to deal with! Knowing which plants to remove, and which to keep, is essential to maintaining your garden. This presentation will describe the different types of weeds, the ways they spread, and how to control them. Some weeds are harder to manage than others and some of the more difficult ones will be described with advice for dealing with them.
About Rebecca
Rebecca Davis Scott, is a new Master Gardener, joining the group in 2024. She works for Green Thumbs Growing Kids, a nonprofit organization in Toronto's east end dedicated to educating students about food and nature literacy by growing together in their school gardens. Rebecca graduated with distinction from Guelph University for Horticulture with a focus on Urban Agriculture and Cannabis Production.

1 entry per class, up to a total of 3 entries
1. A design to honour Mother, in a teacup, mug, or teapot
2. A vase of mixed spring flowers, may include own foliage
3. A design incorporating a wooden spoon
4. A miniature design, not to exceed12.7cm (5”) including container and/or accessories
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS ARE WELCOME! We will be holding meetings in a variety of formats including Zoom only, in-person only, or hybrid meetings (over Zoom and in-person) for the safety and comfort of our members.
